Stallion Sta. Lucia dispatched Pachanga Diliman FC, 3-1, to nail its sixth straight victory in the United Football League Thursday at the Emperador Stadium in Mckinley Hill in Taguig.
Lee Joo Young, Ruben Doctora and Rufo Sanchez each scored one goal apiece to help Stallion keep its record clean in the season.
Lee opened the scoring for Stallion at the 30th minute, while Doctora followed it with a breakaway goal at the 39th minute to give their team a 2-nil edge.
A bizarre incident happened right before the halftime whistle, as Pachanga’s Ariel Zerrudo, who was not among his team’s 11 players on the pitch, got a red card while warming up on the sidelines after using abusive language to a linesman.
Pachanga team manager John Gutierrez then was caught on the television shouting profanities at the officials while being escorted out of the pitch.
That incident brought life back to Pachanga as it became aggressive in the attack after the break. Substitute Mohammad Jamali found two great chances at the goal, but his shots failed to hit the back of the net.
Jason Cunliffe finally curled a shot off a free kick at the 70th minute to trim Pachanga’s deficit to 2-1.
Pachanga then threatened to tie the match, with Jay Eusebio leading the charge for taking two shots which he both missed.
But Sanchez came up with a dagger shot at the 82nd minute to deny Pachanga from a completing a comeback.
The victory helped Stallion keep its place on top of the League table with 18 points.
Pachanga, meanwhile, stayed at sixth place with six points.
